Writing is usually a solitary process. You research by yourself, you write by yourself, you wait to hear back from publishers by yourself. But there are times in a writer's life when all of that changes; when you're surrounded by people and you're the center of attention. These times are dreaded by some and treasured by others. Book launches, speaking engagements, and presentations make up the social life of a writer. It goes to show that these lonely labors actually reach out to touch people beyond the walls of your study. Here are some of my favorite photos of fellow writers, launches, and presentations.
